Euroins supported the tenth edition of the Friendship Marathon in the city of Pleven.

On May 19, 2024 the tenth anniversary edition of the Marathon of Friendship was held in the city of Pleven. The event attracted over 800 people, including competitors from Algeria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Germany, India, Italy, the Netherlands, Romania, Russia, Sri Lanka, Ukraine and the USA.

All participants in the event were running for charity - a scholarship for excellent success to a student from the Medical University in the city of Pleven, who lost one or both of his parents, or grew up in a specialized institution. The initiative is part of the BCause Foundation's "Ready for Success" campaign.

The participants of the marathon were divided into six main disciplines as follows: 42.2 km classic marathon, 21.1 km half marathon, relay (2 x 10.55 km), 10.55 km, 3 km mass cross "I can", as well as children's run FunRunKids, which for another year attracted the most participants - over 400 children, divided into three age groups.

During the Marathon, a mass cross was traditionally held together with the Bulgarian Association for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities in support of people with different abilities.

Over the years, the Friendship Marathon in Pleven has established itself as one of the most loved and anticipated events for the region, attracting a diverse audience. The marathon is not just a competition for professional runners, but a sporting and cultural celebration attended by hundreds of city residents, guests, diplomats and officials every year. And this year as in previous years, during the event, visitors had the opportunity to participate in group activities and sports as part of of the Park+ initiative, which stimulates extracurricular sports activities and reaches the most vulnerable groups of society - people with disabilities, adapted physical activity, intellectual disabilities, including their participation on an equal footing with all event visitors as an active part of society.

The tenth Friendship Marathon in the city of Pleven is organized by leading foundations and social enterprises in Bulgaria, whose main mission is to support people in a disadvantaged position and various needs: "Ice-Open", "Maria's World" Foundation, "Social Future" Foundation – Jamba”, National Alliance for Social Responsibility, in partnership with the Municipality of Pleven, SC EliteRunning from Romania, Bulgarian Association for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities, BCause Foundation, “Autism Today” and many companies for which corporate and social responsibility and contribution to building sustainable civil society are at the core of their business.
