'The Expert Talks' Series Ep. 2
News
The ski season is in full swing, and the slopes in Bulgaria are welcoming winter sports enthusiasts.
But why is it important to have 'Tourism in Bulgaria' insurance? Lili Stoyanova, Commercial Director for Domestic Markets at Euroins and an avid skier, explains. Lili Stoyanova has over 20 years of experience in insurance and is just as familiar with the slopes in Bulgaria and abroad.
- 'Tourism in Bulgaria' insurance provides financial coverage for medical expenses that arise, most commonly due to accidents while engaging in winter sports or simply during tourism.
- The insurance also covers transportation costs and emergency assistance provided by the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS). In Bulgaria, mountain rescue services are paid. This is because the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) is not funded by the state budget but is financed by those who require assistance and the Bulgarian Red Cross.
- Euroins has a contract with the Mountain Rescue Service, through which it directly reimburses the costs of assistance provided to the injured person.
- Lift passes for winter resorts include insurance, but it is highly limited to primary first aid provided on the ski slope and transportation to the medical center, and only during the ski area's operating hours. This insurance does not cover imaging diagnostics, casting, consumables, splints, or blood tests, which means the injured person will need to pay these additional costs.
- With Euroins' travel insurance, you have extensive coverage, including protection against illnesses during your trip.
'Tourism in Bulgaria' insurance can also be purchased online: euroins.bg or through the MyEuroins.
Head to the mountains prepared and with the necessary equipment, follow the warning signs, and do not leave the marked slopes and trails.
In case of emergency, call 112 or the Central 24/7 Mountain Rescue Service Post at 1470 (for all mobile operators) and 02 963 2000.
