October 1st - The professional day of the Bulgarian Insurers

Today, all insurers celebrate their professional holiday! The date was declared an official, professional holiday in 1996 by a decision of the Association of Bulgarian Insurers and the Union of Private Insurers, and since then every year October 1st has been marked as the Insurer's day.

On August 23th , 1891, in Ruse city , Prince Ferdinand signed a decree 134 establishing the first Bulgarian insurance company "Bulgaria", and on October 1st , 1891, it opened its doors, which is considered the date for the beginning of Bulgarian insurance.
